A homeless artist was distraught after waking up one morning to find his beloved pooch Bobo gone from his side. Thankfully, neither the dog nor the fur dad had to wait too long to see each other again.
Anthony Rogers, an artist in Midtown, Memphis, shares that he became homeless after a few unfortunate incidents in his life. However, one of the bright spots in his life is Bobo, a pit bull-Labrador mix.
Bobo was a wee pup when Anthony found him in a drug house and decided to adopt him. Since then, the fur dad has stayed clean, and he credits Bobo for saving his life.
Anthony sees the pittie mix as family. He may not currently have a roof over his head and three square meals a day, but the fur dad makes sure that Bobo never goes hungry.
So one can only imagine how Anthony felt when he got up early one day and failed to see Bobo’s cheerful face anywhere. He immediately sought the help of friends to look for the dog.
They printed flyers and distributed them all over town. Anthony and his buddies also talked to people who knew Bobo, hoping that someone had seen him.
Unfortunately, nobody had any information about the pittie mix. It wasn’t until two weeks later that the pooch turned up at Memphis Animal Services.
An employee who saw Bobo’s missing posters instantly recognized him and rushed to call the number listed there. A friend of Anthony’s got the message and drove the fur dad to the shelter.
The pittie mix was over the moon when he saw Anthony. He ran into his fur dad’s waiting arms, wiggling his body enthusiastically, jumping up and down, and smothering Anthony with loving kisses.
Bobo could barely contain his happiness, and he refused to sit still. There was no doubt how deep his bond with Anthony was.
But the employees of the shelter had more surprises for the grateful fur dad. They had already vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped Bobo.
Memphis Animal Services also sent the pittie mix home with a year’s supply of Heartgard and Nexgard, which protect against heartworm and flea and tick infestation, respectively. Moreover, Bobo got a bag of food, a leash, a collar, and a name tag.
Anthony will be keeping a close eye on the pooch to make sure he never gets lost again. But in case he wanders off, Bobo’s tag and microchip will help his fur dad find him sooner.
Utopia Animal Hospital is accepting donations to fund the canine’s annual medical checkups. Watch Anthony and Bobo’s touching reunion here:
